Ongoing Family Wellness Advisory Services

Family wellness planning, care navigation, provider diligence, crisis preparation and continuing coordination for UHNW families and their advisors.

An ongoing engagement begins with the responsibilities the family wants the advisor to carry. The scope is agreed for that family and reviewed as needs change. The following service areas define the Family Wellness Office model.

Family wellness planning

Develop a working picture of the family’s goals, existing supports, concerns and upcoming transitions. Establish priorities, the people involved, the coordination tasks and a regular review rhythm. Include the family members whose participation is appropriate and agreed, and make space for individual goals within the broader plan.

Behavioral health care navigation

Organize the search for appropriate professional support, prepare questions for prospective providers and track the next steps between a recommendation and a confirmed arrangement. Compare service scope, qualifications, availability and practical fit. SAMHSA’s quality-treatment questions provide a useful public reference for treatment-provider discussions.

Coordination with counsel and fiduciaries

Work alongside the family’s attorneys, trustees and family office professionals to clarify practical responsibilities, communication arrangements and funding questions. When family conflict affects a care plan, help organize the relevant people and decisions. Legal interpretation and litigation remain with retained legal counsel; clinical decisions remain with the responsible licensed professionals.

Crisis preparation and transitions

Prepare a contact and responsibility plan before a difficult situation escalates. Identify the clinical and emergency resources the family would use, the people responsible for practical arrangements, and the information they are permitted to receive. Support coordinated transitions into care, between care settings and back into daily life. Actual availability and response arrangements are specified in the engagement.

Continuing recovery and individual support

Keep the ongoing plan connected to the person’s daily life: appointments, routines, family relationships, education, work and appropriate support. SAMHSA describes recovery in terms of health, wellness and a self-directed life. That perspective informs our attention to practical continuity and individual participation. Read SAMHSA’s recovery overview.

Review across generations

Revisit the plan through adolescence, adulthood, changing family roles and succession. Record what has changed, what the family wants to accomplish next and which responsibilities need updating. Ongoing counsel means the relationship can develop with the family.

Three forms of continuing relationship

Family Wellness Counsel focuses on the family’s wellness mandate, a current plan and regular advisory review. Active Family Care Coordination adds ongoing provider diligence, individual implementation arrangements and practical handoffs. An Embedded Family Wellness Office creates a designated coordinating function for a family whose generations, branches or locations require broader continuity.

The engagement defines participating people, work intensity, staffing, communication, availability and fees. The family can adjust the scope as circumstances change while maintaining the underlying advisory relationship.
